All-Ukrainian Public Organization "Association of Ukrainian Geologists" was established in 2000. It is an association of geologists, geophysics and petroleum engineers as well as other specialists of the geological industry of Ukraine. The Association has 22 branches in Ukrainian regions, Kyiv and Crimea with a 4.000 of regular members. Thirty four geological societies, associations and companies are also the members of the Association, including staffs of:

  • State Geological Survey of Ukraine;
  • State Geological Information Fund of Ukraine "Geoinform of Ukraine"
  • State Commission of Minerals Reserves of Ukraine
  • National Academy of Mining Sciences of Ukraine
  • Ukrainian Mineralogy Association
  • Ukrainian Paleontological Society
  • Scientific Centre for Aerospace Research of the Earth (CASRE) of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
  • State Geophysical  Association "Ukrgeophysika"
  • State oil-and-gas-company "Chornomornaftogaz"
  • and others

 

The superior body of the Association of Ukrainian Geologists is the Conference which is in charge for the election of the Board of AUG and executive officers. The Conference is held biennially. It is a place for discussion around the most important issues related to the development of geological survey, upgrading of the national mineral resources, legislative policy geological science as well as introduction of advanced technologies and international co-operation.
Association of Ukrainian Geologists is the successor of the Kharkov Geological Society founded in 1916.
